My reward for being at an airport hangar at 7:30 this morning? I got to see the LPC campaign plane up close and person (though didn’t get to go on the plane this time), mingle with our amazing staff, and oh yeah – grab a photo with the boss before he left for Vancouver. No big deal, right?
With Justin Trudeau on the tarmac in Winnipeg
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m lucky enough to help out with leader’s tour when it comes through Winnipeg. And if you’ve never worked something like this, there is a LOT of work that goes into planning an event of this size. Justin Trudeau was only in Winnipeg for a grand total of 5 hours, and yet there were many more hours than that put in to making this visit go off seamlessly. The reason it went off so well? The same reason that the Liberal Party is doing so well; an incredible team. One that works tirelessly, day in and day out, to see Justin Trudeau elected as our next Prime Minister.
When it comes to great teams, it’s not just the talented group of candidates who have put their names forward for office; it’s also our dedicated staff. It could be the strategists who are hard at work in Ottawa, staffing the war room and party offices; the individuals who sacrifice sleep to travel across multiple time zones in a day on leader’s tour; or the people who travel the country, preparing cities and towns for visits like the one that happened today. The sheer experience that the Liberal Party has amassed is astounding. These are people who are at the top of their field, and who have taken leave of absences from their jobs. Why? Because they believe in Justin Trudeau’s vision for the country. It’s inspiring; no other way to describe it.
