Back to work

I’m back on the campaign trail full-time now.

My internship finished last Friday, which means that I can now devote 100% of my time to ensuring that we elect as many Liberal MPs from Manitoba as possible. I’ve started to do some communications work for Jim Carr, which is a great because I get to use the education I just completed in public relations and communications. First order of business is helping to plan an upcoming fundraiser. As soon as we finalize information about the event, I’ll be posting the details for those that live in Winnipeg.

I’ve talked about fundraising on my blog before, but next to door knocking, it is the most important part of campaigning. Campaigns cost a lot of money and we need to raise funds to make sure that we can bring our message of #realchange to local voters. One of the benefits to having a campaign as long as this one is that teams are able to host multiple fundraisers to ensure that there is a continual stream of money coming in.

And what would a weeknight be without a canvass? I helped make up the canvass for tonight – we had over 19 people come out to help Jim canvass the riding. Can’t wait to see what the next 41 days bring!
