Justin Visits Winnipeg!

day 18

Today is day 18 of this extremely long election and it saw the first campaign visit from Liberal leader Justin Trudeau (he did visit Winnipeg twice in July). It was a spectacular and exciting way to begin the day!

I’m lucky enough to be part of an extremely dedicated team of volunteers that help with anything that needs to be done during visits like this. Today I was working with the media pool ensuring that they were set up and able to get all the coverage they need. This is a great complement to what I’ve just finished studying.

There is such an amazing group of volunteers and staff that are involved in this campaign; ones that travel the country, away from the friends and family for long periods of time, visiting up to 3 and 4 cities a day. Ones that work hard, day in and day out, on the ground in their ridings to get their candidates elected. And the team in Ottawa who provide assistance to us all as we move towards October 19. Why does anyone decide to make this sort of commitment? Because we believe in the values of the Liberal Party, we believe that Justin Trudeau will be the positive change that Canada needs , and we support our local candidates, who seek to be their communities’ voice in Ottawa and not merely Ottawa’s voice in their communities. If you have time, come be a part of this incredible team. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Here are some photos from today’s event.
